Stack That Bass

Where: Mangere Arts Centre, Nga Tohu o Uuku, Mangere Auckland

When: Friday 4th of May, 8pm-9pm.

What: Come and see the wonders of a bass-heavy circus, performed by four acrobatic friends. The show is a mashup of explosive juggling, nail-biting chair balancing and high level acrobatic moves.

NZ Burlesque Festival- The Royal Tease (R18)

Where: The Vic Cinema Cafe Theatre, 48-56 Victoria Road, Devonport, Auckland

When: Friday 4th of May, 7.30pm-11.00pm.

What:

The top acts have been selected for the New Zealand Burlesque Festival but who will reign supreme? Come and watch the glitter, the glam and an extravagant performances, from both male and female, as they battle it out for the title of King or Queen of NZ Burlesque.

This night is a must-see event, with performances from the reigning champs, ‘King Chris Ohhhhh!!!!’ and ‘Queen Pixie Twist’. Get ready to scream for your Queens and Kings.

The New Zealand Burlesque Festival is a gala of everything Burlesque with three shows, over three nights. This festival features international and local performers.

Premium tickets holders will have the best seats in the house, and will be able to attend the Royal Court. This is an exclusive backstage pass to mingle with your favourite performers from the night, along with the newly crowned champions and you will also receive nibbles and a complimentary beverage.

The doors will open at 7.30pm, with the battle of the best beginning at 8.00pm. Make sure you dress in your most outrageous fashion statements, and glitter is highly encouraged.

What: Fresh from the UK, Lauren Pattison is bringing a fierce female voice to the NZ Comedy Festival for 2018. Her acclaimed solo show will leave you loving the skin you’re in and embracing every single fantastic flaw we love to hate about ourselves.

Spooker’s Massacre (R16)

Where: Spookers- 833 Kingseat Rd, Kingseat, Auckland.

When: Friday 4th May, 8 pm - 10.30 pm.

What: This strictly R16 event is bringing the thrills and frights to May the Fourth. It’s the official opening of The Woods tonight, so get lost in the darkness and make your horror movie nightmares come true. Are you brave enough?

What: One of the Kings of Irish comedy is bringing his award winning stand up performance to New Zealand as part of the Comedy Festival 2018. Known for his cutting-edge comedy and intrepid social commentary, your stomach muscles are sure to get a thorough workout.

Cinco De Mayo

Where: Mexico Sylvia Park, Britomart, Ellerslie and Takapuna.

When: Saturday 5th of May, 7pm

What: A celebration of culture and all things Mexican, Mexico is putting on a Margarita masterclass in the honour of Cinco De Mayo. Mexico will be celebrating the day with a two hour masterclass creating 3 different Frida’s Margaritas and a tasting of a special set cuisine.

Smiggle’s 15th Birthday Bash

Where: Smiggle locations across Auckland.

When: Saturday 5th May, 11am - 2pm.

What: Come and bring your wee ones along to celebrate Smiggle’s 15th Birthday. There will be face painting and heaps of freebie’s and fun in store.

A night in Europe

Where: 69 St Georges Bay Road, Parnell, Auckland

When: May 10th, 5.00pm-9.00pm

What: For one night the La Cigale French Market is opening its stalls to the public to come and enjoy european delicacies under fairy lights and heaters. From fine wine to double dutch fries come down to experience all the La Cigale has to offer.

P-Money hitting the decks at Sweat Shop

Where: Sweat Shop Brew Kitchen, 7 Sale St, Freeman’s Bay.

When: Saturday 5th May, 8pm-4am.

What: P-Money is lighting up Auckland this Saturday night! This is an event cannot be missed, and it’s free before 10pm, so come and get your groove on at Sweat Shop.
