Of the 2700 parks in Auckland, only about 120 are agrichemical free. The rest are sprayed with a weed-killer containing glyphosate, the active ingredient in Roundup.

This map has been created from information provided by Auckland Council and shows the parks in Auckland that do not use any agrichemicals for weed control.

Note, playgrounds and paths in all of the 2700 parks are weeded mechanically.

Great Barrier Island and Waiheke Island are agrichemical-free. Some of the Waiheke parks on this agrichemical-free map use a small amount of Bio-Safe which is an organic weed killer.

Residents whose properties border parks can opt to have the roadside of the park and their property boundary added to the spray free register with Auckland Council. These parks are not included in the map unless agrichemical-free methods are used across the whole park.

This information was provided in August 2018. If you have additional parks that you would like added to the map please get in touch via Facebook.
